just so that we are clear, I've owned many examples of the 325is and superboss, only last year I got rid of my last 325is and I still have one supie left- I'm actually considering an e36 M3 because I'm sort of bitter about letting go of the IS. Also many times on this forum I have recommended the e36 BMW as a second hand purchase, so I'm not sure where this "Opel fan" description comes from.
Anyway the appeal of these cars is many, the same reasons Gordan Murray wants an escort with a ITB 2.0 16v motor even though he designed the best hyper car ever made
with certain generations come certain cars that that generation is prepared to pay for, and the supie and IS appeals to the generation X so to speak, the cars they grew up with
So that's the appeal for you, it's emotional. Makes sense. I don't really have that when it comes to cars. I think I might be missing out a bit. Although I would not mind owning an e36 6 cylinder bmw at some stage, doesn't even need to be an M.
