Finally Leaving iBurst!

Like hello MWEB!

Get this right:

Currently I have iBurst wireless 2 @ R 199 p/m and the 128 kbps softcap VAS @ R 249 p/m
Total = R 448 p/m

Now, I can get Telkom WiMAX 512 kbps @ R 240 p/m and MWEB All day Uncapped 384 kbps @ 219 p/m
Total = R 459 p/m

So, essentially, for R 10 extra a month, I get faster internet for the greater part of the month and the satisfaction of giving iBurst the BIRD!

ANYDAY! I'm outta this iBurst house!!

Yeah I seen that to, but some guys on the Screamer Wimax forums phoned Telkom this week and they said that it was still discontinued

I wanna get rid of my Screamer Wimax, and get Telkom Wimax and Web Africa.

WiMAX is still available... I was just told I don't have coverage where I stay. :'(

Ok, well now I just phoned them again after checking my coverage on the website (according to it I do have), and now I'm told its no longer available.

Maybe this is a blessing in disguise, if it already starts like this, then I don't want to deal with Telkom.

Telkom has stopped all further development and roll-out of WiMax to new customers and in fact has plans to wind it down sooner
rather than later. The reason: Telkom has not been able to recover its costs and investment in Wimax and has instead decided
to re-direct all its resources on W-CDMA.

Thats exactly what I told the person on the phone... I mean why the hell would I pay for HSDPA (Not like we ever get HSDPA speeds anyway) when I could be paying ADSL prices.

The main feature is ISP of your choice + wireless = cheapest wireless

Confirmed WIMAX no longer avail. from Telkom.

Get everyone in your area to apply for ADSL

What was good about Telkom Wimax is the portability option of going to any ISP., Pity they dont offer it anymore

You can bank on it that iBurst will allow other ISPs a bitstream service.
