Hi everyone!

I have recently taken a leap of faith and moved to Johannesburg from a small city in the eastern cape as an attempt to start my life. I left my local university to move to UNISA where I'm studying my Bcom now. My old man has agreed to foot the bill until I can get on my feet and get a job.

However I am facing a few challenges. As I'm currently studying, I have about 6 months work experience (IT internship I did in a gap year) but not much else to bring to the table. I'm looking to work full time in an office preferably. The problem is that I don't really know where to look. Careers24, Pnet, Jobvine...etc all applied to this and that but no luck.

Can anyone help with advice on where to go forward? Recommend an employment agency maybe?

Other info I would say I'm looking in the IT or Sales industry, definitely ground floor though.

Thanks!

Your best bet would be another internship and work your way up to a perm position.

Biggest mistake you could have made. Studying part time is not fun ;)

You will have to start at th e bottom and work your way up. Try your local recruitment agencies?

I'm looking at that as an option as well. Just non-graduate internships are hard to come by and when you find one, it's flooded with graduate applicants. I found my last internship through a friend who knew of a company about to post one but got in there before the masses needed to know.

I'm studying full time :P just after work. I know it's going to be a mission but that's the goal I set for myself. I tried one recruitment agency and they came back to me with a senior position as a PHP developer with a R25k to 35k pm salary. I don't think they read my CV right. xD

And mistake maybe, but I didn't have many options. I couldn't take another year in Port Elizabeth without dying of depression or going crazy. NMMU also didn't rub me the right way. I didn't enjoy it.

Have you tried the work section on MyBB? Maybe post there with a right up of you experience? I'll find a link quick.

edit: not sure of the rules for that section but here it is:
