What a mission. Firstly, NOBODY takes responsibly at all, it's a finger pointing exercise of note.
My DSL line will basically stay usable for 40min whereafter it will just die. Everything to the ISP shows connected, the line speeds still show 4M down and 512K up but a speetest will return a 0.01 down speed and normal up speed. My line normally tests between 2.8Mbps to 3.8Mbps down. I have changed routers, disconnected everything, wifi the works, and just ran one pc, no change.
So log a call with the ISP. Nothing wrong here, must be telkom. Log a call with telkom and ask them to reset the line and please move my port on the exchange. They assured me nothing wrong and threaten me that I will pay if they found the fault somewhere else. I mean, WTF?!? Here I am in the middle trying to get things sorted so how do you do that by not involving both parties if neither accepts the problem?
Anyway, 2 nights ago, went and bought a prepaid from the competitors. I ran my current account until it died, again about 40min since I booted the router, loaded the prepaid account and been watching Netflix trouble free since then.
