Someone has registered a domain similar to our company one and has emailed a few people with invoices and getting them to pay it. Thankfully this person's English and grammar is so bad...people are easily seeing its a fraud attempt.

Trying to get this website taken down...but having trouble this time (normally quite easy). This website domain is protected by contactprivacy.com, so their correct WHOIS information is not available (gives Tucows details).

Normally I can find their hosting ISP details and contact the ISP with a takedown notice...but not this time. I have emailed the abuse email address for contactprivacy.com, but thought in the mean time to check here is anyone has managed to get info off a domain protected by contactprivacy.com?

Cheers

Thanks, have sent off an abuse email. Wanted to check here if there is a way around getting around contactprivacy.com somehow...maybe someone here has been in the same scenario?

Unlikely, seems they are somewhat smart and decided to not register the domain in their names. Is something like contactprivacy even legal?

Searching Google...there really is no way around it. Damn. So sent the email, now have to wait at least 48hrs for a response. So long....grrr....ah well.

Yep, WHOIS privacy is legal on certain TLD's. If you want to PM me the domain name, I can try take a look for you?
