Unrelated to your query but how does one find pictures for their fines. I have about R2000 in speeding fines but Paycity wont give me the pictures nor will finesSa, Told them i wont pay the fines until i get pictures to see it is my actual car.

Via payfines.co.za?
Submit a "fine query" via their website.
Got a 81 in 60 between Plett and Nature's 2 weeks ago and they retracted the fine.

So I found this on that stretch:

Now I won't talk about the sign facing the same way on both sides of the freeway, but surely that's not a different speed limit for each lane? That's a minimum speed surely, or are those different colours? How do their cameras do speed checks per lane?
The left speed limit is likely a restriction because of trucks descending. I would assume the greater speed resembles the actual vehicle speed limit.

In other news, looks like its a popular spot. Someone trapping as we speak

So I received a R400 fine for doing 79 in a "60" zone by Knysna muni on the N2 between Brenton on sea & Keytersnek (travelling towards EC).
I did my utmost to find a 60kmph zone on that road using an up-to-date google street view and can't find it. I was travelling 80 and using cruise control as I do on the highway to keep to the limits. I've emailed them to try get their feedback but they don't seem to answer emails.

Anyone know where it is? This is the stretch between Brenton and Keystersnek apparently (only the N2 bit - I didn't drive to Brenton):

I was in a similar position to you but on the N2 by umzumbe(port shepstone old road). Even if I was super careful, would still get nabbed for 80 in a 60. I then decided to stick to the highway.

Is there perhaps a junction up ahead?

Yep, that could well be it - minimum speed signs have a blue background apparently. Those are two different speeds for each lane - max 40 in the left lane and max 60 in the right lane. Oye. Live and learn.

What do you mean “apparently”? Am I the only one who studied for my learners? :D

i had 2 fines without pictures recently. Queried them and was told they are not mandated to show photos, the fine still applies.

They are ALWAYS trapping there! In fact: all the way from George to Knysna you are bound to find at least 3 to 5 speed traps, excluding the permanent cameras in the Kaaiman's Pass.

And, yes, two different speed restrictions for two different lanes, sounds ludicrous, yet they enforce it. The Kaaiman's camera flashed me, even though I was doing 60 km/h, in the RH lane at ± 01:30 in the morning - never heard from them.

Very difficult not to get fined on that stretch.

I seem to recall that on Kaaimans heading towards Knysna, there are two cameras in quick succession.

So you spot the first one, slow down for it, go "oh yay, they didn't get me", speed up again and round the next corner there's another one. Oops.

Everybody knows about that Wilderness Knysna etc. stretch with cameras. What I saw coming back from Addo on the 6th of January - a lot of the actual speed signs seem covered or missing due to the ongoing road works which were suspended for the festive season. So was quite confusing and tried to do the Google Maps thing while driving through there.

I am waiting for my " F#ck Me George " fine from under a bridge on the N2 going downhill at 16h on the 6th at George - could see the traffic cop smiling while trying to keep that radar gun thing steadily. Probably the only stretch were I really went beyond 120KM/h, somewhere between 130-140. Stretch home at that stage.

So as I pay the fine and am about to exit, they pop up a pineapple insurance ad. Seems pineapple has a lot to learn about good vs bad places to put your ads.

And these turkeys at paycity put R12 on as a 'processing fee'.
You did NOT pay a camera fine?! You must have made a typo? Who pays that? There is no way for them to serve the notice required in law on you. It is unenforceable. Just ignore the rubbish!
