This has also become law in South Africa. I just wonder will they actually be able to enforce it. I still flash oncoming traffic if I know they are driving towards a roadblock or speed trap.
Who says it has become law in SA? Can you give a source?
The last court case found the guy not guilty and said that flashing your lights at someone is a good thing if it gets them to slow down.

I must agree people who flash other people to get out their way are idiots I can't stand it.
Sauce?
And increase traffic congestion as all the idiots slow down to well below the speed limit.the irony - it actually caused motorists to slow down. we wouldn't want to do that, now would we?
what saps should actually do is add a daily patrol with cops in regular cars on the freeways flashing their lights.
that way oncoming traffic slows down for an indefinite amount of time in anticipation of a speed trap.
It would seem to run counter to the requirement that trapping be visible. Although I think they have bent that rule in the past through sneaky trap placement - strictly compliant with the letter, but not the spirit, of the law.I didnt even know the UK did this kind of thing, hiding a guy behind some bushes with a radar gun.
It's annoying when people hog the overtaking lane by travelling below the speed limit. Usually it's the moron right at the front of the queue that is the culprit.I cannot tell you how annoying this is, especially when some idiot flashes me, but there is a line of cars in front of me all doing the same speed
As long as you're doing the speed limit while overtaking. There is absolutely no excuse for someone forgetting which lane they're in. If they're that mentally incompetent they have no place controlling a huge chunk of metal travelling at high speed.I must say Durban drivers on the N3 are the worst when it comes to this, I can be overtaking a freak'n 16 wheeler truck and they will come sit right on my @$$ flashing me. Although i don't see a problem with it if there is no traffic in the left hand lane... sometimes people forget which lane they are in or how slow they are going, I don't like overtaking on the left hand side too dangerous for me![]()
