Hi All.

As the title says, need to set up a system for a client for clocking in their staff(+/- 180 employees). So basicly all i need is the reader & the pc with the software to do so. Any idea's as to where I could find this? Googling & phoning around has got me a few quotes for like R27000.... not exactly worth it for what i want.

Idea's?

thnx:)

thnx. had a look around the site couldnt really find what i was looking for, will give them a call.

This can't be thaaat hard to do i have seen many systems like this, but yet no one seems to supply them.

There is a unit on sale at Makro now for doing this... Not fingerprint based but chip based. Around R8000

At my old company we used Blick http://www.blick.co.za

They offer a biometric system, we hadnt implemented it, but had been looking at it.

Blick mostly provides enterprised sized solutions, integrating with the likes of SAP, Oracle and Peoplesoft, meaning that their solution will be quite pricey

the hardware is easy to get, can get a good FPR for around R800. Its the software which is the problem, doesnt seem to be any free or open source software for clocking, phoned a friend who is going to try make one.

Hi, Please give me a shout if you are still looking for a Time Management Software solution.
e-mail me at [email protected], or visit our website www.trac-tech.co.za.

No need to re-invent the wheel by writing a solution, We can offer you the software, or a complete hardware (of any type from RFID Card to a range of Biometric hardware) & software package. Depending on your client's specific requirements of course.

Be very aware of cheap biometric readers bought off the net! There are MANY fly-by-night companies out there, and it's really not worth the nightmare.

If the system is tied to their payroll, it had better be reliable! That means it must be redundant and have UPS's. For 140 employees you will need more than one access point if you are not looking at a 30 minute queue. Will people be clocking in and out simultaneously? Yes means more access points.

How secure does the system need to be?

All of these things will increase complexity and cost. Don't base your solution on cost alone, it might just work out a whole lot more expensive than anyone thought.
