I had my blade go in for its 18,000 service last week. I saw on the highway now that the engine temp was varying from 89-90 Celsius. After getting onto a normal road with robots and all, it quickly went up to 100. Usually I get 78 on highway and about 89 normal road. I really doubt this 12 degree hike is because of the summer air temperature outside, and my oil/water are new.

Should I get it checked out at the shop or could it really be summer's effects?

Could be the extreme heat we're having these last couple of days. Remember that the tar gets allot hotter as it absorbs the heat. But to feel safe have it checked, could be that they forgot to put the fan switch back or something small.

Probably summer heat - My XT1200Z often goes above 105C and then the fan comes on and switches off again below 100C - this only happens in slow traffic

My GSXR runs 78 degrees on the open road, once there is traffic and robots... 100 / 105 degrees C pretty quickly... As long as you can hear your fan going on, and you can see the temperature dropping to the mid 90's then it's all fine ...
