Firefox 1.5 Stability Problems? Readers And Mozilla Respond

Interesting... I suppose a lot of it has to do with what the user is running on thier machine.

It's certianly better than IE with any measure though :P

I haven't had too many problems with it - after trying ie7 in a side by side with ie6 and getting whacked by a security update, I've made it my default.

On occasion I've had funny lock-ups which appeared to come from FF, but until I read the article didn't think too much of it.

Now that I'm aware I no doubt will have many more problems, kind of like your tongue seeking that filling that's just fallen out.

Very occassional problems with lock ups on some web sites, still use ie for some sites that refuse to go standards compliant and obviously check my designs in ie.

I've also been following with interest the Opera vs. Firefox debates which are cropping up more frequently.

I use Opera every now and then, but without extension support, it's not as rewarding.

Interestingly enough, this seems to be most peoples feeling - extensions are the "killer app" for firefox, without them, I'd probably switch to Opera because it renders pages quicker and caches them better.

Apparently, Opera has better support for web standards than Firefox, but there isn't much in it.

Firefox has now reached the point where any serious web dev designs for it, to ensure compliance to web standards and then hacks alternatives into the code for ie.

Also waiting to see if the allpeers.com extension will make as big an impact as it's developers are indicating.

Use faster fox... if you're still unsatified add google's accelerator. My firefox now kills my Opera when it comes to page loads and caching. (I've got about 80MB of web cash now.)
