Firefox 12 from tar.bz2 package and MyBB

noticed the following problem on firefox 12 on this forum (installed from source tar.bz2) . Look where you normally see which forum you are in

I am running the release version on Debian, Arch and Fedora. All of them display the same behaviour. Any thoughts on what could be causing this?

it seems to be a problem related to when i am logged in. When I am logged out, this is what I see:

Maybe I'm just tired, but I have no idea what is wrong in the first pic that is fixed in the second.

So the words Forum, IT, Discussions, Linux, etc is cut in halve? Is that it?

hmmm. interestingly when i choose the setting for firefox to allow the site to choose it's own font the problem has disappeared. oh well all's well that ends well.
