FireFox 29 launches with new features

I'm suspecting that the slowness problem is related to youtube videos. Either the html5 video codec or adobe flash.

About:config allows you to customise just about everything in Firefox. I can set all the timeouts to custom values, enable multiple connections when downloading pages, set the behaviour of the url bar, enable/disable animations and change the size of my tabs.
 
In Chrome I can do the following:
In the address bar type: youtube.com, then press TAB, and then press my search term.
This will make chrome search youtube.com for whatever I typed.

Firefox doesn't work the same. Is there an add-on that will allow this?
 
In Opera I just type "yt (search term)" and hit enter :D

I have a fair number setup - c will search Carbonite, a will search Amazon, e will search Ebay, gt will search Gumtree, b will search Bid or Buy, etc.

Are you then redirected to that site when the results are displayed? or are they displayed within your default search engine?

With Firefox you right-click on a search box and then add a keyword for that site, lit yt for Youtube for instance.

Redirected to the search results using the site's search engine. If it used Google it would be a pointless feature, I could just add "site:website.tld" to the search string.
 
Is there an option to relocate the tabs bar without an extension? It's a silly design choice to separate tabs from content like that - I don't need non-relevant stuff (bookmarks bar, address bar etc.) between my content and the tabs I use to navigate between the content.

Ah NVM - seems the Classic Theme Restorer is required. Still a strange UI decision imo.

You're not alone. CTR seems to be growing pretty damn fast. A few days a go it had about 9K users, now it's heading towards 125K. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/statistics/usage/?last=30

you can remove the bookmarks toolbar under the menu - customise function
 
hope they've fixed the cpu usage in linux with this one
