Firefox 3.0.4 freezing after update

Mine doesn't freeze, it just stops! What I mean is if I click a link or type anything into the browser, instead of trying to connect, it says "Stopped" for some or other reason. Closing it also doesn't close it completely, it still runs in the task manager, so I have to end the process and start again - very annoying - I am looking to switch to a more stable browser now - been having issues since FF3 was released...:mad:

Very annoying I can imagine. :mad:

I assume you've tried Googling the problem?
 
I've just downloaded Opera at home this morning to mess around with it.
Initially - not impressed - it didn't import all of my bookmarks and those that it did, it put in alphabetical order - so now I'm stuck having to arrange it all, if I continue with it.

FF 3.0.1 has been problematic - haven't upped to 3.0.4.
Initially FF3 was good - just been on to Chrome of late because of the larger view and less clutter on the taskbar.

I tried googling but nothing came up - not knowing the jargon makes it difficult to search for the issue and a potential fix...:(
 
I also had a problem with FF.. After my update it kept going in a loop telling me the update could not be completed because there is another instance of firefox running on my PC.

Its actually very easy to fix. Aparently this is due to some antivirus problems. I disabled my AVG, it didint work, but after ending almost every prosess in the task manager the update worked.
