Hi all,

Just would like to know what amount of memory FF uses on your PC? I currently have two FF windows open, with a max of 6 tabs in both of them.
My memory usage is 100MB.

Mine uses 50000K. I have 4 tabs open, all fully downloaded, in one window.

I just had 4 tabs open: 90MB
The opened another 11 tabs and it increased to 93MB

Did the same as you, 2 windows with 6 tabs each, also 93MB

293mb but Firefox has been open for 3+ days now. Currently 5 tabs open.

How do you guys get the usage in MB? Task manager displays my usage in 'K'.

IE6 on my old PC uses 12mb..
I suspect that with IE, you can't just look at ie.exe (or whatever it's called) and work out total memory consumption. Some of its "components" are already running, before you have even started your browser.

Anyway, there are many articles that claim(prove) that Firefox 3 beats just about every other browser, hands down, when it comes to memory management. Here's one from March 2008: http://arstechnica.com/open-source/...a-diet-eats-less-memory-than-ie-and-opera.ars

It uses more memory because of all the Add-ons that are installed.

320 megs... 34 tabs open, been on for about 10 days though :)
