Firefox beta gets hardware acceleration

True 'fast' rendering of the site is not going to improve if you have a crap connection.
Regardless if you splashed out for a top of the range AMD / nVidia card that helps with the rendering of the page

OMW, feels weird to say AMD :):wtf:

what are you talking about? Telkom tells me that my 384 kbps is fast ;)

The builds with GPU acceleration is actually slower for me, and my fonts were ugly. Disabling acceleration fixed both issues. Beta 5 is a bit rough around the edges...

I have been playing around with these betas but the lack of addon support has kept me from using them full time.

Beta 5 is stable enough for home use but not for office use. The fonts do indeed look ugly (although apparently thats a Microsoft bug), I also had problems with some buttons and HTTPS not working. And, especially when using tab grouping/tab view, it seems much, much slower.

This is great news... funny thought is: Soon we'll be hiring Game Developers to create our corporate customer zone websites :)

chrome ftw

I don't think I'll ever switch from FF. My Bookmarks toolbar is so brilliantly set up with RSS Feeds from about 30 sites and my favourite bookmarks. I see Chrome now has a bookmarks sync add on, but the standard browser doesn't seem to work with RSS feeds. Maybe it needs an add-on. That's stupid.

The Bookmark sync, together with AutoFill, Extensions, Themes and Preferences sync, is actually build in. It works really well for me.

I'm wondering how long it will be before Chrome gets hardware acceleration is the stable release. Hardware acceleration seems to be the new 'thing'.
