If you use Mozilla Firefox I have something interesting to show you:

1. Launch Firefox.
2. Go to Tools > Options
3. Click on the "Privacy" padlock icon
4. In older versions of Firefox, click on the + sign next to the
words "Saved Passwords." In newer versions of Firefox, just
click on the "Passwords" tab.
5. Click on the "View Saved Passwords" button.
6. Click on the "Show Passwords" button.
7. When Firefox asks you if you'd really like to show your
passwords, click on the "Yes" button.
8. Wail and gnash your teeth.

Guess why I don't save passwords when using a public computer or a shared profile.
Also - a simple Ctr-Alt-Del and k locks the PC when I'm not at it.

What comes to mind though, is use FF 1.5 and use the master password - tools, options, privacy, password - master password.

At least there is some way to fix it. I agree though that to have them open by default is quite bad. Especially for those who leave their computer logged on at lans and that sort of thing.

Most of IE bugs you have to wait for MS to fix.

I disagree

Nothing's broken... it's great to be able to check your pw's from time to time if you save them - especially if you're not the "write it on paper and stick it in a safe kind". Bottom line is it's a convenience if you don't want to have to remember passwords and don't worry about security - home pc small office scenario... note it doesn't work with your bank pin...

Wow - surprised me. I just checked and was pleased that the same thing does not occur in Opera which I use as my default browser at home and at work. Although I'm the only user on my work computer I have not saved any passwords of importance as I don't have ultimate control.

Easier way (although, your keyboard needs a Windows key...) WinKey + L
