About two weeks back, Firefox wont start when clicked. Not visible in Task manager either. I need to reinstall everytime I use it. I have also cleaned the Registry of any Mozilla/Firefox entries and reinstalled. Still no joy!!!

Any ideas before I move to IE...............really dont want to!

Thanks

firefox gave me endless troubles and was always slow on startup. Chrome is working well for me right now. Will never use IE. Just to see if it's firefox or the install you can try the portable version. See what it does...

You need to completely delete all vestiges and traces of the old Firefox, before you re-install a clean version.

1) Uninstall
2) Go through the Program Files folder and make sure it is all deleted there (remember to check in the Mozilla folders as well)
3) Go to Control Panel and enable Hidden Files and Folders.
4) Go through the AppData Folder under your profile name under the Users Folder on your main drive.

You can usually find several folders under C:/Users/{YourName}/AppData/....

My FF started and then froze, then I got the not responding screen.

I uninstalled and re installed and also nothing changed.

I will stick to Chrome.

Unfortunately, FF has also been acting up for me and the rest of my family lately and all have moved to Chrome. I use it sometimes for keeping lots of tabs open because its so frugal with resources, but Chrome is used for everything else. Pity, I've always been a supporter.

FF are tightening up security, so pretty soon ANY page that has anything to do with flash players or Adobe wont load or just Freeze.
