Can you be a bit more specific as to exactly what steps you have taken and what the exact error message is (and at which point it occurs)?

ERR... RULE NUMBER ONE: DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR FIREWALL!

You can open ports, make exceptions for applications, but there is no good reason to switch it off.

Here's hoping your pc is still alive to see this message...

That router acts moronic at times.

-Just hook up the ethernet cable (yellow one) and make sure you're on the 10.0.0... ip range
-then access the routers interface via 10.0.0.2 in your browser
-should prompt you for a username and password (admin and admin)
-click on setup
-step 1, type in your credentials and leave the rest as is
-step 2, if you're gonna use wireless...then you can rename it and what not
-step 3, this is the username and password for accessing the router (the admin and admin from earlier...) can change it here for security purposes
-step 4, save it

Router should reboot itself and the prompt you to login in again... should be fine after that.

I had the same problem when I tried to install mine. The problem is that the install thingie looks for the router at 192.168.0.1 while it is actually at 10.0.0.2 (Hooray for Telkom repackaging!)

But just do what photonman says and all will be well

I'm having the same problem with the Telkom Mega105 router.
Excuse my ignorance, but once the ethernet cable has been connected to my PC, how do I ensure that I'm on the 10.0.0.. ip range? (with regards to photonman's instructions)
Also, once I'm on the ip range, is the next step as simple as entering in 10.0.0.2 into my internet browser address bar?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

go to start>run>

>type CMD
>type ipconfig

just enter into address bar as http://10.0.0.2

and follow the other steps...
