It depends on the speed of your intenet connection. The update is about 120mb I think and it takes a max of 5 min to install the update after it has downloaded.

My connection speed varies at the office. I think I will do the update on Monday morning just to play safe. Thx

only 10 mins! we got a 100Mbps connection here. worth the risk I guess?

its taken 30 mins to get 20MB. is it safe if i cancel and run this another time?

Although Nokia warn you not to do so, once the download of the firmware starts after the update software has started to download from the INTERNET you can disconnect your phone and the update will just be saved on your hard drive, plus you'll get an error message later on. Provided there isn't suddenly a new update made available overnight you can restart the update software and it will identify your handset, find it has already download the 120MB of firmware and then start to upgrade your handset. Do NOT even think about disconnecting anything now! Pray that Eskom don't load shed and all should be OK.

I did three N70 the other day, the first downloaded the update but the next two just started right off. All were the same i.e. N70 branded Vodacom had one been say MTN branded then only that "extra" bit would need to have been downloaded.

Hi

I did disconnect cos I had to leave the office. Luckily nothing went wrong with the phone. While I was waiting for you guys to respond i searched a bit more on the net and found that a newer version is out V21. however the update picks up 20. whats the way around getting the latest version? and is it advised in terms of debugging etc?
