Firmware update screwed my card!!

i did a firmware update from v12. to 14.2 now no sim works besides the voda sim i was usin my VM sim in my Novatel U630 help!!...is there a way i cud put back the old firmware... :mad:
 
this sux big tym...wen i put in my VM sim all i get is acquiring....any1 got the old firmware? i need it badly...

Take to Ixia trading 348 (Pty) Ltd Tel 0861 252 2838. Walk in for a fix at early morning 9:00 AM.
 
V12 had known problem with disconnects

I understand your problem with V14.2, but be aware that there were problems on V12 with regular disconnects. Does you card work OK with a Vodacom SIM and V14.2? I think I have a copy of V12 somewhere - will look at the office on Monday and let you know. I have used a V14.2 card with a MTN SIM so not sure why the Virgin one does not work.

my V12 worked wonders with my virgin...thanx il be waitn 4 monday ul be my savoiur...

i even got v14.5 now fro the vodafone.de sit n it still jus stops at accuirig...

Ok, maybe it has something to do with the current VMC Profile that you're using - try creating & selecting a new VMC Profile for the VM sim card - I don't know if CellC is listed as an available network to use in VMC, but if CellC is listed then select CellC. My point is that VMC wouldn't be able to 'acquire' the CellC network if the current profile is set to Vodacom...
 
I agree, I don't think this is something to do with the firmware.

I don't think it's a good idea to roll back. Pretty sure it's not a tested option as the MTTC would have only tested upgrading and not downgrading.

Did you upgrade to VMC 7 at the same time?

Can you connect using DUN?

ive always had VMC 7 wen i bought My HSDPA...anyway i bought a new 128K sim 2day and suprisingly both the 3G and the HSDPA cards support it

yes im sure im usin it ryt now but it tends to be unstable with the HSDPA but its good enuf...the other 64k still dnt wrk in the 3G card its Novatel U630 v14.5

OK, cool. So to close this, we can say the firmware upgrade did not screw up your data card, but rather the new firmware requires a 128K SIM from VM?

Probably some new feature requirement.
