Hey all

I have a linksys wrt54gl router and decided to flash it with the dd-wrt firmware. As it says in one of the txt files, i first tried upgrading to the generic_mini_v23_sp2 version (before the standard one) by flashing from the web GUI. I did that, it said it was succesfull, but now i cant access the router anymore through the ip address i was using before (192.168.1.1). The connections between all my computers still seem ok though.
Have i screwed something up or do i have to do another firmware flash some other way? How do i get the web GUI back?

thanks

ok, did a full reset and got the GUI back but i have no clue what the password is now! doesnt seem to be the default "admin"
anyone got a suggestion?

can the gl only handle the mini or do you not need the features the full dd-wrt version offers?

hence the 2nd part of my question.

To hijack the thread a bit - how do most of you guys setup remote access to your computers using the dd-wrt firmware (or other firmware as I would guess the principles are the same. Looking to logon to a linux box from a Windows box using FreeNX to be specific). But we can ignore the specifics for now and concentrate on the building blocks.

Assume using a service like dyndns.org - user.dyndns.org
Assume a non-standard port - 12345
Assume you setup the computer you want access to with ip (DHCP via the router) - 123.456.7.8

Do you use the Port Forward tab to forward port 12345 to ip address 123.456.7.8 to port 22?

If yes to the above, would access to the computer then be via http://user.dyndns.org:12345?
