Bonus question - Are you still using it.

This is so ridiculously subjective it's not even funny. I've bought both a house and a car that could be considered as "big" buys, but I didn't do either out of a want to spoil myself, but rather a need for reliable, safe transportation and because buying a house is cheaper than renting in my case. I recently bought a fairly good home theater system which could be considered a big buy by some (Not by others, obviously) and I spoiled myself a bit there, but that's about it.

Ya treat yourself isn't the correct phrase, anyway my 1st big buy was my ford fiesta, R90,000. Thing is still powering on 3 years later, not a single days trouble what a fanstastic buy

Well I can add my car. But it wasn't my first big buy. I'm going to study next year though, so all is not doom and gloom.

Turned out to be quite expensive since I needed everything cause my previous pc was outdated and that was after harddrive prices skyrocketed.

Big ie. something you would normally not have been able to afford which ofcourse is subjective to your finances.

eg. My big buy would be a car.
