So i finally took the leap and got the D90 special at Orms(love that place, fantastic service!!!). I cannot wait to get my camera up and running but my question is how long do i charge the battery for its first charge? the Manual says it should take about 2 hours 15 mins. I have googled it as well and some people say the Li-ion batteries don't hold a memory so you charge it until it's full and that's that, while others say you should charge it over night. its hell of a confusing:confused:

Li-ion batteries are not supposed to hold memory, but personally I always charge new batteries over night just to "stretch" the cells.

My 2c worth.

If its li-ion batteries then there's no need to leave it charging overnight, it wont make any difference. Nor do u need to drain the batteries fully before charging. Charging them from 0-100% and 99-100% makes no difference to the battery. Only those old nickel based batteries.

Thats just the way i understand it at least..

Yep, no need with the newer (read: many years) li-ion batteries. Old habits and bad advise die hard.
