First Dates

A movie is a terrible idea for a first date, or any date really unless you're 16 years old. The whole point of a date is get to know someone and find out if there's any spark. Sitting for 2 hours in the dark isn't going to achieve that.

Blowjob at the movies on a first date and it means she's easy. Not wife material.

Don't knock it.

Go to an art Cinema, pick the longest most boring looking film. Crack out a bottle of wine and some choccies.

Get her / his steam alias and play some coop together.
If they suck or rage quit you can move on with no face to face required.

we should really close the relationship section on this forum. really has no value.

Do people still date?

Shouldn't you hook up first and see if you actually like the sex before anything else?
Not everyone lives the gay lifestyle like that Shaunie

so what do the cool kids get up to these days -- i haven't dated in years, and haven't a clue what constitutes a good first date.

im also not relatively young -- 30+ so - "do something fun" doesn't quiet resonate with me.

was thinking some cocktails on a friday night -- but the places we frequent as singles get quite rowdy. anyone know any relaxed places i could go have a drink with someone -- jhb rosebank and surrounds.
My wife said take her to some activity such as a pottery class or fishing etc but if not that then the perhaps a nice restaurant after some drinks at a place with a nice chilled vibe.

Marble is a nice place to have tapas and drinks after work. Once you pissed you then have a dinner and then ask her if it will be her place or yours?

Coalition pizza is also nice, and so is sin tax. But you can't smoke there which sucks.

It's funny how some people struggle with this sort of thing. Personally my go to is a restaurant neither of us have ever been to .

This.. when I was last dating and even now with spouse we like going to new places with interesting, unique dishes, events (not so noisy ones tho), themes, etc. Kinda adds something new.. and when dating, makes the outing interesting at least if she turns quiet so at worse conversation would be “wow.. didn’t know octopus tasted like that” etc haha.

Me thinks the key is to get conversation going.. some people rely heavily on personality if extroverted.. however an interesting place always helps along with liquid encouragement but them Uber.

Just find a nice place and have a conversation.
