Good afternoon all, I hope someone can assist me...

My question is twofold, so please bear with me:

I have the following equipment, iBurst Desktop modem, D-Link AirPlus XtremeG WAP and a Linksys Wireless G Broadband Router. I currently connect my laptop to the iBurst modem with a USB patch cord. My wife has now pressurised me into 'getting wi-fi at home', hence the post.

Question 1 is, Which is the better (easier) option for me to connect to my iBurst modem to provide wi-fi coverage at home? Common opinion on this site seems to indicate the Linksys is the better option?

Question 2 is, How would I go about configuring the router and the iBurst modem to communicate? I have a network cable to connect the modem and the router, but beyond that I'm rather clueless. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance for all advice and assistance,

Paul

Hi Pual

first off you Still on Iburst :(

as for the rest whichever router can initiate a PPPOE connection via the Wan port. (Pretty sure the Linksys can not sure on the D-link)
just plug router into the modem via the Wan port (normally says internet, WAN or is a different colour to the other ports) and in your router go to connection setting choose PPPOE - insert your Iburst login name and password and set do conection as continuous or always on (not as needed) and boom it should connect.
then go to wifi settings and create a SSID and password for the wifi.

Thanks, will give it all a bash.

iBurst is they only option I have at present - my area exchange and multiplexed line doesn't support ADSL with Hellkom...

Do you feel my pain?

OK, tried as suggested - no joy.

'Windows was unable to connect to "Network Name"

Troubleshoot Problem

Tell me more about internet connection problems'

OK - I don't have a clue what or how, but it's now working.

More luck than good judgement, but I'm not complaining...

Thanks all!
