Just got home and woeps...there goes the power. First little bit of rain of any substance and Parkhurst grid bekaks itself.

Hope not a sign of things to come

Seems its going the way of traffic lights, spot of rain, and everything fails

Have you had flickering lights/dimming etc over last couple of days?

Nope. Got home and 10 minutes later the power died. Luckily it was not long. About 2 hours and the power came back. According to Parkhurst twitter it was a transformer or something close by that tripped. Many surrounding areas were also affected.

And yip....the robot just down the road from work went on the fritz yesterday after the rain .... and still flashing this morning when I came back. Urg. Luckily it is not a busy one.

43 is hectic, there must be some deliberate tampering on the network.

Roosevelt Park Substation is shot. Busy with a rebuild, but until some time in 2018 we will suffer constant outages due to previously unmaintained infrastructure. Smaller substations/distributers down the line constantly get tripped because of issues at the main substation.

Almost in the same boat as you, almost three a week at one stage in the Honeydew/Wilgeheuwel area. They also lasted from 9 to 18 hours, touch wood we've not had one in two weeks, which is some kind of miracle. Just me logging faults with City power is 28 times sigh.
