Good Day

I was wondering if one of the Afrihost agents (or anyone) could assist. I live in a complex in Fourways
that seems to already have Metrofibre termination points installed. Pic included.

I'm looking at the 10/10 package from Afrihost. My question is, is there anything else I'll need when the router
is delivered, or will it come with all necessary connections from the termination point, to the router and finally to my laptop?

I don't know if anyone has used this line before me, so on the application do I select "new installation" as opposed to
"migrate my existing metrofibre line"?

The Metrofibre page on Afrihost also claims to come with a free wifi router, but the application form also asks if I want
a wifi router, so I'm a bit confused.

Any help would be appreciated. View attachment 20200731_080104.jpg

Thanks

From the picture you supplied this will be a New Install. Please don't select migrate in select New Install. When you go through the order process the system asks if you need wifi you need to select yes here if you want a router. If you say no then a router will not be added to your cart. No biggie if you did that because it can be ordered at a later stage too.

Once the order is placed on out website Fibre Ops on our side will place an order with MetroFibre. MetroFibre will be in touch with you directly to arrange for installation of the ONT. Once that is done you should have our router by then.

You can plug it in next to the ONT installed by MetroFibre and visit login.afrihost.com in a browser to activate your line.

Please don't hesitate to send me a message if you would like me to follow up on anything for you. Can't wait to get you connected!

what is the username and password if i want to access my router?.

Thanks for the reply/help.

I'll follow the steps and see how it goes.

Dont want to reset it. Just want to access it. Cant be that hard.....

Have you ever logged into the router before since the original setup? If yes it forced a password change. Resetting it will return the password to the defaults.

Many thanks for the reply. Will it change any of the settings, or will it just reset the user name and password?. No. Never logged into router since afrihost set it up for me.

Good Morning,

This is very odd.

We have the default password of all our D-Links set to afrihostadmin1 If it's not that password for whatever reason then resetting the router and setting it up again is the best alternative to get the password reset.

Let me know if you need any info. ;)

Good Day

Just an update. Got a bit busy over the weekend.

Decided to go through with the process yesterday. Followed step by step as you said. I ended up getting an
OTP sent to my phone and an invoice of R1 being deducted. But no email from Afrihost saying I've
placed an order, and no active orders yet in my Client Zone.

Is this normal?

Yes. So the system on a new signup does a few checks. It checks the address and see if it can place an order. If it can it does do that. Then it deposits R1 for verification. Once you verified it goes and marks the router as paid and Warehouse gets a notification to dispatch. If it finds an order number it updates the account with the order number.

It can take about 30min or so for it to run through all these checks. You can drop me your clientzone email to check.
