Two french gaming magazines have reviewed the game and so it's looking great. Can't wait for 2 November.

Joystick review
9/10 + Megastar award
“Forget everything you know about RPG’s. Intense and deep…The Witcher is the new reference for RPG’s”

PC Jeux review
90% + ‘Hit PC Jeux’ award

I'm getting the game tonite, I can't wait :D I wonder which one will be the best rpg of the moment, Witcher or Hellgate?

Yeah, this has been a tough call for me, but as far as I can tell, Hellgate will run better on my oldish laptop (Pentium M 2.0GHz, 2 gig RAM, 6800 Go) than Witcher will. From what I've heard Hellgate runs nicely and looks good on lower spec machines, but I've not heard the same for Witcher.

From were. You are soo lucky I have to wait till Friday.:(

Anyway IGN have there review in 8.5/10 http://pc.ign.com/articles/831/831264p1.html

Can't really compare Witcher and Hellgate it's like comparing Baldur's Gate and Diablo two totally different style of games.

Hellgate is more about action while Witcher is about telling a story. I prefer the later but I am still getting both.

Witcher runs fine if you meet the recommended requirements but it does have some issues with loading times of areas and some crashes. The crashes are much less if you have the patch installed. And if you are running vista you need all the hotfixes.

Installing it now :) Will give a review of sorts tomorrow.I have a 7600GT 256MB I just hope it runs ok.

It's good,I can run it on full but some of the ingame videos seem a bit choppy. You can choose what control and camera system you want to use which is pretty nice, I play over the shoulder.

Looks like it is a really vast game with quite a few dark/adult concepts like racism/alcholism and because you are infertile due to our enhancements you can fornicate to your hearts content :D You get a nudie card as a trophy each time you do

The alchemy systems is easy to use and the potions usefull, you collect ingredients from plants and beasts that you slay. You can enhance your weapons with ore, runes and oils/whetstones that give you temporary bonusses.

Skill tree is easy to use and lets you customize your char to a certain degree(not as diverse as wow's talent tree).

I like it and if you like dark RPGs I advise to go get it

Did you play with the patch or without?? Apparently patch 1.1 a improves the video playback also turning DOF off in settings.

I still have to wait till Friday to get my collectors edition. I have waiting for this game the whole year.:)

But I think the score says the most important part 6/6.
I don't look anymore or believe anymore in game score from any site or mag.Since PCF rated enter the matrix as one of the worst games ever. Now i agree it was not one of the best games ever far from it.but it was also far from the worst game ever.

Ok guys. I finished the tutorial and just started with the first non tutorial section.

Game is fantastic. I have been hooked by a game like this since the days of BG,planescape torment and so other classic bioware rpg's.

On the load times if you are used to the BG loading screens they won't bother you if on the other hand you are used to the oblivion type of very few and then short loading times they will irritate you. For me they are fine since I like the BG type of game world.

Combat takes a bit getting used to but I figured it out so it's fine now. You need get your combo's right and use the right style for specific fights.

Performance wise game is great. I am getting average of 45 fps at 1680 x 1050 with all settings maxxed. 4 aa and 16 af.

Some slowdowns in certain cutscenes but these are issues the developers have said they are working.

And yeah you do get to sleep with a character during the tutorial. But I won't give too much away.

I played with patch 1.1a. Haven't had any crashes during the game. The game didn't crash when I exited it once but I had the same thing with Dark Messiah and it never affected anything since the only happended when exiting to the desktop.

If you like crpg's get this game. It's fantastic.

I can second that. Im a big RPG fan and this game is the best I've played in a while!!

Even on medium performance level the graphics and sound are awesome.

I'm also using patch 1.1a and so far no problems.

The loading times are a bit slow moving between scenes but then again Im only running a Pentium 3.4 - single core. Other than that no complaints.

Also having a blast. I really, really wish they didn't build it on the Aurora engine, and I have some technical gripes. Also not convinced by the combat system as yet. But as far as atmosphere and story go, I'm loving it. Dialog is so cheesy / different, I love it ("Are you still a decent girl after work?" ).

No big technical issues or crashes yet. And I've played quite a bit (patched). Oh actually I lie. Damn copy protection won't recognise the disk in my machine (no prob in the trouble and strifes). That really, really pisses me off. But I got a DaemonTools backup image which works no prob.

Loading times are annoying, but not excessive. Can play at max detail. (e6750, 2 gig & 7900GT).

Not sure it's everyone's cup of brew though.

Am busy downloading the game.almost done should be done by 2morrow can't wait. W00t:D
Am so going to fail my exams:(

Remember this game was made by a small eastern european gaming company . It was there first game had they not used the aurora engine they would have had to pour resources into developing their own engine and probably sacrificed some other area of the game.

I think they made the right decision.

Just be warned guys when you get to chapter 3, the trade quarter is very buggy. I have virtual no crashes in the other sections but have lots of crashes there.

And Pe-Killer would that be the legal Atari download??:D

Can't help thinking it would have been so much nicer on the Oblivion engine. But there are probably reasons it isn't. Technical or Cost. But I agree. We need more games like this. Small studios making something creative, rather than big studios making yet another FPS / RTS.

I must say, ive been playing this game lots and its amazing. It hasnt crashed once on me, it runs smoothe and the game is just crazy. Congrats to the developers on this. great game
