Fish River with a Raft?

I'm planning my second trip to fish river canyon to do the 90 km hiking trail again. I want to take a small portable raft with me to put my bag in to make the hike a little easier. Anyone ever tried? I need to know if it is going to be worth the effort...

I think it depends when your're going we went at the end of the season and the river was so empty you would never have been able to use it.
