Hi,

So, I've been having ADSL problems, like 99% of us do. Long story short. Over the past maybe 10 years, I've had ADSL issues with syncing and everything in between. Luckily for me, I've been keeping all of the fault log numbers. So each week, Telkom wold come do their thing, until they saw the address and you know, oh it's him again, let's ignore him for a few weeks. Anyway, so 2 months ago I reported the same problem, never heard of them.
Everytime each technician has another story, some of them makes sense, some really know what they are doing and gives me insight on why things happen like they do. Which I like, then I understand. But listen to this:

*Telkom uses a system now to keep your line stable, and syncs accordingly. Which is oky, but a pain in my ***.
*Zyxel routers are very bad, and that causes my syncing problems. :wtf:
*I can NOT use the same ISP account at home and at work, their system doesn't know what to use, 4mb or 12mb. Hence syncing under 1mb?
*Afrihost was to blame for the terrible speed. And they have what do to with sync?

So I was just wondering what others thought of it.

I would advise you to get a different type of internet connection.

Maybe fixed wireless or fiber if you're lucky.

You're 100% sure to have continuing problems going forward even if they do "fix" it in the near future.

1) Assia. This is accurate
2) Can't comment
3) Bull. ASSIA profiles are assigned to your phone number, not your ISP account
4) Afrihost have no influence over your sync rates.

Thanks for the replies, ASSIA can apparently be disabled on my line. Will try to phone them for that.

As for fixed wireless and other products, you will not believe it, but I fall outside coverage. Picture the whole pink or blue or however they indicate the coverage, with a little white block in the middle, not even 100m. So sometimes 4G, sometimes H+, I don't think I'll get luck sooner than maybe 10 years from now.

I never believe them blaming the ISPs.

Assia can be disabled, but not for good. It just kicks in again a week later.
