Fitbit profits higher than expected

They are higher than expected because there are more people that are able to be duped into thinking that a 'fitness band' will actually do anything meaningful for them.

It does for me. Gives me the time without having to take my phone out all the time. Wakes me up in the morning without waking up the whole house. It notifies me of calls and messages so I can keep my phone on silent forever. Then there's the fitness stuff like constant heart rate monitoring and counting your steps.
 
I had a fitbit and its heart rate is totally useless. I think there is a class action against them due to dangerously inaccurate heart rate monitoring.
