Got a fitbit.
Pro: It was a gift
Con: I'm still fat. Wearing it doesn't make a difference :p

Yeah if I wear it around my neck I'll definitely lose weight.

I bought my wife a fitbit in Nov last year, she loves the thing and wears it constantly.
It he helped her get her steps up during the day and she uses the food tracking in the app to watch her calorie intake.
The sleep tracking is great too although Im not sure how much value it adds. At least she can see why she feels tired!

If you get fully behind the smartphone app and use it properly then its a great tool, if you just use it to check steps from time to time then a basic pedometer would do the same job for less money.

I don't see the point in wearing them during the day. It won't help me in any way as I cannot change the fact that I'm on my arse for 8 hours a day (office job).

I have a Garmin Forerunner 210 for when I gym or go running/cycling, which is awesome.

Your supposed to be walking around your building every hour or so for 5 minutes... :whistling:

Looked into the bands but the Fitbit doesn't have an accelerometer to let you know if your walking up stairs or just walking down the road. Different amounts of effort.
Still a good buy if your looking for something to motivate you and like Rocket-boy said if you use all phone app and plugins to other applications for fitness, you'll get your monies worth.

Any idea which do provide this additional info?

My wife got the fitbit with the wifi scale which uploads your details to your profile...strap broke not long after she had it and doesn't wear it anymore even though she can use the (male) strap provided...unless you serious about loosing weight i wouldn't get it.

Not as dedicated as those - but I got the Sony which isn't bad. It has potential too with additional apps.
