Hi Guys;

just want to find out something;

I decided to replace my burnt out interior lamp with a LED one; as well as my boot lamp with an LED lamp;
was quite simple, drop in replacement; no issues there and all working fine;

I decided to be a bit more adventurous now, and decided to replace my Brake/tail lights now with LED's;
took my blown globe with to the store; and brought one that got 2 contacts; like my original.

even brought a nice one with a few LED's together so its not all focused in one direction;
problem is is wont work; not on brakes or on parking lights:(

sits inside the socket fine; but when I removed it smelt burnt a bit; and obviously no light;
before I return it to the store do I need to replace anything else? some forums recommend a resistor; or replacement of the fuse/relay
and what should I look out for as my interior LED one said it had a built in one; --- should I look for something like that?
should I buy a specific relay and replace that first? what kind would I need to get?

can you guys recommend specific make/model I should use or are the Chinese ones with chinglish worthless these days?

car is a 2010 kia picanto BTW;

I wouldnt use aftermarket led bulbs for brake lights
its a safety item and that housing was never designed for LEDs so wont be as effective imo

Thanks guys, did return it,
Seems for some strange reason my wiring is diffrent, bulb wont light on my car,

I stumped the chinaman good and proper......

Brought battery clamps, gonna try change battery to original for this car 615 instead of 618
Any disadvantages? Besides freeing up space under the bonnet of my picanto.....

No nothing wrong just my air filter box not accesible easily due to it pushing up against my battery that is too big for the car....

When i sell it you will notice its sort of pushing against the air filter, not by much but enough to sometimes need tightening....

Want to try replace 618 with 615 battery as thats what specified and much smaller,
Should free up space, as the engine bay is so small
