Hey guys

Is it possible fitting power steering to a car? Is it feasible? Do they sell kits? Is it reliable?

Please feel free to advise.

Thanks

Just out of interest, same question but on my car 2010 picanto,
Know they sold mostly with power steering but for some reason mine dosent have any...

Yes it would be possible. You would need the steering rack, power steering pump, piping and reservoir, etc from another Picanto which DID come with power steering. Bob would then be your uncle.

It's always possible but whether it's worth it is a different story.

Get rid of the aftermarket, too-wide tyres, inflate them properly and don't waste money trying to fit something to a car that's going to give you endless hassles and you'll never get your money back when you sell it.

Put 250 Kpa in your tyres and keep them inflated properly.

If you still feel you need power steering then you need to go gym or something because a Picanto doesn't need it.

Didn't have it on my Corsa either and it was never and issue.

thats strange, mine says on the sticker inflate to 220 KPA; (loaded and unloaded) on 165/65 R14 tires;
why would I inflate more? would it then be easier to turn the wheel in parking lots?

im just curious about all this; when I get my car back Ill check this out;
but as far as I remember never a good idea to over inflate tires;

Attend an advanced driving course you'll realise a lot of the information related to tha is based on old tuber tyres.

They'll even tell you to do 3bar.

The manufacturer is all about comfort and giving a softer ride, using the tyres as a suspension component.

Try 250 you'll find it turns much easier and will wear better.

No, it won't wear more in the middle than the edges.

Also get your own gauge. Garages are off by 30kpa or so normally.

conquest and tazz. and Corolla 97 to 02 models
