I was in Mauritius in December 2023.

The ZAR will not take you far there.

EDIT: I see Turkey is on the list too. I was there in 2019, when the ZAR could take you quite far, but not anymore.

Thailand as well. I was there in 2022, and while the ZAR could potentially stretch quite far, you have to keep an eye on spending. You can quickly spend much more than you think.

I certainly hope the writer of this article didn't simply search for currencies for fairly popular travel destinations where you get a larger number of local currency per ZAR.
