Hi all

I won't say how

Running the Xbox 360 since 9am this morning. Still working fine. If the client has no problems when he gets it back then I'll be a happy camper indeed

So much for sending it to MI Digital for a replacement :p

Cheers

how much do you charge for interest sake?

R250 for a general repair (RROD,2 Red Lights)

R400 for 1 RED LIGHT errors (E74, E64, E65)

My associate in Boksburg, JHB is sorting out an E73 unit (Ethernet port error) for me. If he can fix I'll add it to my repertoire.

If you know of people needing repairs, they can give me a shout. My biz e-mail is on my blog under Xbox 360 services (sig)

Cheers

but wouldn't repairing it manually void the warranty?

Normally yes.

RROD & E74 is covered by the warranty in terms of a swop out for a new unit.

We don't have an official MS repair centre in South Africa. I'm not sure where MI Digital gets there refurbished units from (thats what you get when you get a swopped out unit).

The only option most people have is to take it to a 3rd party like myself. Some of us need to make a living you know

Yep, well thats kewl man hope you do well :)

Thank you

I'm getting an RROD unit in tomorrow, and a console with a non-functioning drive on Friday.

Re-programming a DVD-ROM drive should be fun :D

Don't hesitate to refer people with broken Xbox's to me. I'm trying hard to make a success of my venture.

Cheers

it took me one phone call to MS SA and one visit to CNA to get a new xbox unit at zero cost.

beat that!

That swopped out unit is a refurbished unit. MI Digital don't do repairs, they import refurbished units from the UK.

So call me a sceptic but that's the short end of the stick from M$.

Many people either lose their slip, buy it 2nd hand without a proof of purchase or have had their Xbox 360 modded in some way. Why pay a R680 handling fee when I and other small businesses can fix your current machine and let you continue gaming for a long time.

I'm serving their need and make a living at the same time. Or don't you believe in entrepreneurship?

I do PC repairs, network & desktop support. My associate covers hosting & web design.

I'm looking into home automation as well, but please ... support big business rather with their exploitative practices ...
