Do you guys have any advice on how to fix a water damaged samsung d900. It doesn't turn on at all. I'll try anything. I've already opened it now I just need to know if there's anything I can do. . .

the last edition of popular mechanics had an article on what to do when a cellphone falls in water.

I don't have the last popular mechanics. Can someone please just post a summary. I have to try fix it before tomorrow.

how long has it been wet or how long have you had it out of the water.

according to the article you must take out the battery and sim then suck the water out (vacuum cleaner) and also keep in a bowl of dry rice for the evening. the whole phonwe and battery must be submerged in the rice if you dont want that dust from the rice all over you can use that silica gel also. its a long article and i cannot type fast to get the whole story across for you. sorry man.

Thanx, i'll try it, the damage might be done already though, it doesn't want to switch on but it looks dam dry to me

yes, did not know there was any other rice but anyway, ha ha yes its normal rice.

Thanks for the help, it didn't work. It wasn't my phone though, it was my cousins, I just wanted to fix it for him.

oh thats a pity but give it another go you have nothing to lose just let it sit for awhile and see what happens.
