hi everyone, i have a 1gb Sahara flash disk which has been working absolutely fine unti recently when i tried connecting it to the computer and nothing happened. The computer did not recognize anything in the drive also you know how when you plug the disk into a usb port it's snug, well now it's loose? i've tried going to my computer right click and going to manager and changing the drive letter and parr but that did't work either....i cannot open the flash disk what the hell did i do....what the hell do i do...i have important information on that disk that i need to get out...

thanks

ps. again the computer will not acknowledge that there's anything plugged into the usb port....when i place another disk it's fine only this one won't work..and yes i believe i had a virus on the disk

I'VE TRIED A DIFFERENT PC

YOU JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT I CANNOT GET INTO THE FLASH DISK ITSELF....PERIOD WHEN I PLUG IT IN THE PC IS NOT READING THAT THERE IS A USB FLASH DISK THERE....IF I COULD GET IN I WOULD DELETE THE VIRUS..
EVERY PC I'VE TRIED DOES NOT READ OR ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A FLASH DISK IN THE PC....WHAT CAN I DO?

I KNOW TAHT IF A HARD DISK CRASHES AT LEAST A TECHNI CAN STILL RETRIEVE FILES, HOW COME THAT CAN'T WORK ON A FLASH DISK?

I THINK YOU SHOULD THROW IT AWAY AND HAVE A MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR IT AFTER YOU HAVE FINISHED SCREAMING AT US.

WHY DON'T YOU TAKE YOUR BAD ATTITUDE ELSEHWERE AND CALM DOWN. THEN COME BACK TO US AND MAYBE WE'LL BE GENEROUS ENOUGH TO GIVE YOU A LITTLE ADVICE.

Typing and entire post in caps is not only rude but bad manners as well.

+1 What he said.

well now it's loose?

What is loose, the USB port or the Connector on the flash disk?

If it is the flash disk then I suspect the electrical contacts might have come apart. Only fix for this is to open it up and try soldering it again.

Your entire name is in caps :p :)

You could try this: plug in the flash open up command prompt type the letter of the flash. If that works then you could use the dir and copy commands to save your data then format the flash. If command prompt doesn't find your flash then the internal components are damaged.Oh and also after trying what i said above ,open up command prompt again plug in your finger into a usb port ,type in the first letter of your name then type in INSTALLGOODMANNERS.exe to run the good manners setup program ,everything should be fine after dat.Good luck

Except for my dad, who cant "READ THE TINY LOWER CASE LETTERS WITHOUT GLASSES"

Try pcinspector, I recovered a few flash drives using it.

Can you see the flashdisk in the Disk Manager? Right click on your My Computer icon, goto Manage then go down to Disk management. It could just be that the drive is there but it doesn't have a letter assigned to it.

Try plugging it into a USB1.1 port (if you can still find a PC with one!) - that's how I got the info off my KingMax mini-usb stick...
