flash drive question

I have just emailed him but he is on a plane between Perth and Karratha so won't get back to me for a while. The one end does fit into the other. Do we have a breakthrough?

Yip - sounds to me pretty much like an extension cable. You sure the actual flash drive isn't tucked away somewhere in the rest of the packaging?

from the looks of it you have got yourself a USB extension cable which is of no use as a flash drive, they often ship flash drives with these extension cables, otherwise, you have just been sold a donkey or someone has made off with the actual drive itself

I think you have hit the nail on the head, so to speak. The blister pack had been slit open (by Customs?) and all that was in it was the actual blister pack with cardboard insert, with the software that one would need if using something like Windows 98 (and this mysterious thingie which I now know to be a dongle or an extension cable or something else that I don't need).
I did not buy it, it came as a gift. It's just tough.
Thanks for all the help. And I learnt a new word.

Strewth Bruce! Me B****y flashy's gone walkabout and all I got's me donglaroo to play with.:D

There was an old lady from Wongle,
who got herself all in a tongle.
She lost her flash drive
but is glad she's alive
and able to play with her dongle.

Get back to work:D

Sorry Lizard. I am having a moment here. :D :D :D

Support : Good day sir how may we help you?
Customer : I bought this flash drive and it does not work.
Support : Did you plug it into the usb port sir?
Customer : Yes.
Support : Did the light come on.
Customer : What light? Is there a light on the cable somewhere? Do I need to plug the other end in somewhere?
Support : Cable? Other end .....

At this point I cant type anymore

LOL! Shame Lizard - your son shipped a flash drive all the way from Oz and some low-life swipes it in the post.

Perhaps there's another explanation. Son buys flash drive to send stuff. Puts stuff on flash drive - forgets to put flash drive back in packaging. Sends empty packaging (just the cable). Maybe you'll eventually get it. Hope.
