Need a flash drive with the write-protect switch for work purposes.

Necessary due to moving between client PCs with the risk of viruses being copied to the flash drive and infecting other computers.

So far, I've only found Kanguru flash drives that will do the job but Amazon won't ship it to SA and using postbox-courier will increase the costs drastically.

Does anyone know how I can get one here for a reasonable cost or find one locally?

Are you going to do that on each client's PC, everyday? On maybe as many as 10 or more some days? Who will undo that?

Your's is not a practical solution.

Sorry, I misunderstood.
I didn't realize it was for use with various clients.

Mmm, if you are concerned about facilitating viruses, you may want to research "BadUSB".

Keep in mind that the write protect is purely advisory - it tells the microcontroller to ignore/reject write attempts. However, if you can replace the firmware in the microcontroller, you can obey or ignore the write protect switch at your discretion.

And to Electric, setting the write protect registry entry is trivially ignored/reset by malware, if it checks for such things.

Many online stores sell the PQI Nano Series that has a write protect switch.

I didn't realize that was the case.
I just remember not being able to do a thing to my drive when I had enabled it.
