Flash Drives

How can one stop people deleting files on a flash drive? Can you make it read only and not allow for deletion?
Am I being stupid here ?

hi most flash drives have a lock thingie on the side, in lock position u cant delete files, but any1 with half a brain will switch it and delete wat ever they want...

ok...wat about assign the file / folders read only, ie right clcik properties, security and play with control setting??? just a thought

Not for the past few years, now most don't have it...

You'll need to reformat the drive as NTFS, then you can change the file permissions to be read-only for all users except the owner.

alot them dont have the feature because someone mentioned anyone with half a brain will figure that out

deenam how does it know who the owner is?

i mean is linked to a pc?

Does the flash come with a disc? Some flash drive will have software that'll allow for certain security features...
