cool we downloaded 17 hidden object games on this stick but only 7 played when we got home thats why i took the laptop thru to my brother so we have 7 games that did not work the first time but now i have the same problem trying to copy them to another laptop.
Incidentally, to stop these stupid viruses spreading to the flash drives, create a folder on the drive called "autorun.inf". That makes it impossible to create a file of the same name on the drive.
hmm i seem to have found something here. if i say show me all hidden files i actually get another icon in some of the files and if i click on the icon the game actually plays. i have checked 3 out of the 7 and 2 have worked so far.
yes that'll work, ive also once been told create ur own autorun.inf file.... just set the attributes to read only...and hidden...but that never seemed to help me...mayb the folder thing works...try it out
co0l, shout if u need more help, and btw get an antivirus on those 2 laptops aswell...ur flash has been in them...mayb they r also effected(not likely, not by the autorun.inf) but its always better 2 b safe than sorry
what can one do for a flashstick that won't format?
first; please excuse the bump, but the general rule of thumb is rather bump than create a dupe thread right? ...right
so anyway, i have a 15gig noname here and when i plug it in i get 'computer can't use device because it is not formatted format now?' yes... but problem is it jams at like 1% and then when you click cancel after a while an error message comes up that format couldn't be interrupted. all while the led flickers like the Ethernet indicator of a router.
i've tried multiple windows machines and all of them do the same.
so question is can i do anything other than making a fancy necklace for a technology disadvantaged person?
bumpity bump. I managed to clear some actual files on mine but it is still full of some weired ones with like blocks for names and they wont delete and it still does not format.
sorry, actually 16 GB. either way it's totally gefook now, the PC won't even boot if it's plugged in.
@wayne - i found this HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool - v2.1.8 you could try. and as for your other problem where the games you coped over not working, there can be many causes. incompatibility, missing registry entries, direct X, you name it
