Hi Guys

I'm thinking of trying this but the file that i need you need from a demo disc u get with your console I didn't get 1. Anyway. Only reason I want this done is to back up my Current games. It scratches the disc and at R 500 to replace one is hectic.

Can someone point us in the right direction on how to do this? Pitbull... why apologise for flashing your 360? I certainly wouldn't want to pay R500 a pop for a game and end up with a scratched disk simply because CDs are made of cheap plastic...

Instead of starting down the slippery slope, rather contact the supplier and see if you can get a replacement disc.

Once you touch that firmware, you're teetering on bricking your 360 permanently.

I'd rather take the risk once on a machine which is R 3000.00

then take a chance on every game I buy @ R 500.00 each

If you flash your Xbox you run the risk of being banned from Live! or even worse bricking the Xbox.

If the Xbox is scratching your discs return it for a new one and return all your scratched games.

Don't try and hack your way around a faulty product make them replace teh product until it works..

Most people I know with an Xbox have absolutely no problems and the people who ran into problems just replaced the Xbox by phoning Xbox SA and getting a reference number and then returning it to the retailer and picking up a new one. Just don't give your HDD back :)

Will MS also replace the scratched disc ?

You must have missed the front page

Please note that you can only run homebrew flash stuff on your XBOX 360 if has a dashboard/kernel version of 2.0.1888.0 or older. Any newer dashboard/kernel versions (starting from 2.0.2255.0 that was released somewhere in march 2006) make it impossible to perform anything mentioned on this wiki.

Which is why it is a bad idea to Flash an Xbox :)

No MI-Digital should....

IF it is your Xbox that is faulty you have already paid for the licence and should just be required to pay for the new media.. R10? You could even argue that quite easily.

MI-Digital ?

Thanx that is what i need. If they can replace my discs then I'm happy.
One disc you can't even see a scratch it's so fine i had to use a magnifying glass to sse it the other is just scratched to pieces. The badly scratched one is my fault so no need to replace but the other !!! it's just sad.

Even if it is your fault you shoud be able to get a media replacement. PS used to do this with games in the US as far as I remember. If your disk was buggered they'd replace it free of charge.

I have done it with a few M$ products before. Basically they really have to as you can prove you have paid for the licence..

Let us know how it goes.. There is nothing like some good or bad publicity to get things moving along.

I have the receipts ! I'll follow it and let u guys know !

Ha ha!!!

Not what you think, ey, but I'd be really keen to run Macromedia Flash on my 360, so thanks for the link! :p

I know what you mean, I had mine done by a friend. They take the DVD Drive out, slave it into a PC using a specific SATA PCI card. They then download it's firmware and merge it with a hacked version. and re upload it. voila, you can play backup games.

Mines been running fine since October last year.

Update:

Phoned MI Digital.

Games = They'll come back to me about paying for a replacement disc (minimal fee) seeing that the licence has been paid.

Console = They gave me a number for Microsoft. Need a ref # fax it thru and they'll replace the console.

Holding thumbs ! :D

Great I am holding thumbs for you...

I am actually just using you as a guinea pig :) all my games where stolen but I have proof of purchase and a case number. Hopefully I can replace them as well for a nominal fee :)

It just makes sense. Why pay R 500 for a game you already bought ? They can just charge me the hardware ?

So they broke into your place ? I remeber you had a story about your gate ...OMW !!!!!

Yeah they seemed to have cased the place for ages.. I am now xboxless :(

I can understand that I won't get a discount on a new Xbox as it's components cost money but if I can prove that I have paid for a licence for a game I see no reason why I should have to pay for it again...
