Flatbed Scanner

Can anyone recommend a half decent scanner for under R1300.00? It will be used primarily for scanning in old photo's.

From what I can see on the net, epson seems to be the leaders in the market when it comes to scanners. ( I might be wrong coz it was a VERY quick look!)

I'd appreciate any recommendations from users who have a scanner.

Anyone used the Epson Perfection 3490 Photo? It also gets very good ratings in the reviews I've read.

I will also vote for Canon. We have one at work and I have nothing but praise for it. As soon as I find some sort of document management system I like that I can use to file invoices/statements/etc I'm getting myself one as well.
