So I decided to reinstall this old game.

Any add ons or extras you can recommend? And has Microsoft fixed that crash caused by corrupted logbooks yet? (Its only been 5 years) :p

Dunno about the logbook crash, never experienced it.

There are plenty of excellent add-on's, what are you looking for in particular? There are a lot of scenery for South Africa, most from Aeroworx and Trieng-Trieng. However, the Aeroworx scenery do cause heavy frame drops, I tried to contact them but their support is not happening. Payware scenery is provided by NMG Trading, with most major airports covered. The sad part is that using the different scenery's leads to weird glitches in the scenery.

In terms of aircraft, there are a lot available, however the one particular aircraft that I feel was done right is the Lotus L-39C Albatros. Its a bit pricey, but its one of the best aircraft ever developed for FSX. One of the biggest drawbacks of MS FS was the fact that the fighter aircraft just don't feel right, however, the L-39C from Lotus feels 100% correct, the performance is very true to real life and the model looks brilliant. I can fully recommend it if you like that type of aircraft.

Another recommendation is the Lionheart Quest Kodiak, not so expensive but a brilliant aircraft.

I'm not so keen on the payware, particularly since my pc isn't really all that great framerate wise to begin with! But I was looking at the editvoicepacks, maynbe get some British stuff and some BA and/or SAA AI routes. Noticed there are no voicepacks for SAA though :(

The logbook crash hits me every two or three flights. It makes getting my licenses very unattractive :( and as a result, no VA really wants me :(

Maybe once I've upgraded, and found a decent joystick. I'm contemplating tossing my Wingman and using a wired Xbox controller!
