has anyone travelled to the usa recently or is planning to go soon, as i am trying to find which airline would give us the best deal. i have a quote from flight centre but want to try get a better price.

SAA always had the best deals if booked in advance and over non popular times. Also a minimum stay period used to drop price, but you have to weigh up board and lodge. I normally just book to main airport and buy any connecting flights at the airport. Also makes it cheaper but may require waiting for a connecting flight

thanks Niccia, and UnoPanelvan, when i first looked for prices myself i saw saa was way to much so kept on looking. i dont know when the season starts but we were planning to go beginning october for about 2 or 3 weeks and will be staying with our daughter.

if u can ... rather get someone from the USA to book ur flights on one of the US airlines ... they get a lot of discounts in the states ....
alternatively ... try klm which will take u to the states via europe ...

thats what i thought lucifir and brought that up with my wife tonight as a matter of fact, but the only problem is she wants to surprise our daughter as she did the same to us a few months ago. i know klm does that route as our daughters went that route last year december, so thanks for that i am looking into it now as we speak.

yeah i saw delta was expensive when i looked a few days ago and the flight centre quote was mostly through delta airlines i think and they quoted us R11K each.
