This might be a doff question but perhaps someone here can advise me.

Ive got my fiance coming in on a flight from abroad and she will be arriving in Jozi Int at 8:35am.

There is a flight that leaves from Jozi to my city at 9:45am.. and then another at 3pm. Do you think its safeish to purchase the local morning flight? It shouldnt take more than an hour to deboard and come through customs right? Or should I err on the side of caution?

Err on the side of caution. 99% chance she will not make the 9h45 flight.

One hour to get through immigration, collect baggage, go through customs, get all the way over to Domestic and checkin?

I think the later flight is the only realistic option.

Rather do the later flight...just in case.
She can always ask to be put on standby for the earlier flight.
All the best today.
Let us know if all worked out fine. I know you have been waiting for this for a while now! :)

Yeah I was thinking the same thing.

Good advice. Yeah, things are going good, its being an expensive and frustrating ride. The South African embassy is so lame. When I got my 10 year American visa I remember going through similar hassles with the US embassy though. Their visa staff suck the most.

The inbound flight may be delayed. Immigration may be short staffed. Lines might be long from all the morning arrivals. Baggage gets rummaged through...A few more reasons to err on the side of caution.
Show her what a caring fiance you are. Put her up in the Intercontinental and book her a massage. Then put her on the 3pm.

You got yourself a mail order bride ? Cool.

Considering she is a doctor, both her parents are surgeons and very well off. I dont think so. Perhaps you think that because you identify with it, but I went more classy :)

Hmm. Okay better open your wallet and whisk out that credit card for the room at the intercontinental hotel. She's going to need a rest. Can't have her wandering around for six hours can you.

If you love someone, you love them, regardless of what they do for a living or how rich the inlaws are. JMO :)

Manila, she will only be here on the weekend.

Whoohoo!! Tell her i say hai! :p Not that she knows me. hehehe

Well he mentioned those things because mail order brides you have to actually "buy" from their families, and there's no real emotions involved from both sides I would imagine. (which in this case there is :) )

I do not see how the wife-to-be or the future in-laws' job or financial status matter, but as long as he is happy, I guess it's alll that counts. Even if she WAS a mail order bride :)
