I was the fortunate recipient of a D-Link DWR-720 FLLA deskphone. Our copper line service was terminated on the same day. The FLLA phone's 3G coverage is not good in the study, where the copperline terminate(d).

I notice this phone has Bluetooth capability. Would it be possible to use a BT handset with the FLLA so that the FLLA can be positioned "anywhere" in the house. I.e. using the BT handset to make and receive phone calls, just like our DECT cordless phone used to do.

Thank you

Why don't you find where the best signal is in house?

I do not see anything fortunate about it and the phones are all free.
It should work anywhere on your property or anywhere is SA where there is Telkom 3G coverage.
Telkom are laughing all the way to the bank :)

Between 1 and 3 signal bars in the study, and we've had some degradation/breaks in voice circuit. So ideally we'd like to be able to place the phone in the most optimum coverage location (for example on top of a cupboard).

We're paying the same monthly subscription as the previous copper connection, but since now being wireless, line rental should fall away - so yes, Telkom is laughing all the way to the bank.

The 021 landline number can apparently not be ported to a new Telkom cellphone contract at possibly a lower monthly subscription. However the SIM card inside the FLLA can be inserted into a normal cellphone, which could be useful in a dual-SIM handset, along with another non-Telkom SIM.

If you ported your 021 number to the FLLA the line rental of R200 odd does not fall away, it will always be there :(
