I'm going to be putting laminated flooring in a bedroom of mine. Unfortunately, the floor is not nice and flat, so will need to be evened out before I put the flooring in.

Can anyone recommend someone who can come and do a good floor screeding job for me? The room is about 10m square.

Did you mark out the level to work to before hand? I've done some screeding myself recently. I marked my levels, and used a straight edge to get everything to that level. It's definitely not easy, but not impossible. Try using screws in the floor to mark the level the floor should be. Then you work the screed up to the head of the screw.

You could also ask the company that is going to install your flooring to level it out.

They normally screed the floor before putting down the laminated floors, now they would just use a little more and charge you more.

Mine did it for me before the flooring.

I didn't mark any levels. I was thinking the self-leveling screed would level out more than it did... The screw idea is interesting...

I was planning on doing the laminated flooring myself. That's quite easy to install.

Ja, attempt 1 was done with that same understanding. Then I realised the self leveling stuff doesn't work that way, and still needs to be manipulated to a level.

Attempts 2 and 3 were more successful. :)

The problem is that it has to be leveled fairly quickly. So it's not something that can be experimented with much.

Maybe I should watch more YouTube videos and give it a second bash ;)

The second attempt gave me the level I wanted. Attempt 3 was just to get rid of the round edges of the screed as it spreads along the floor, so that the floor was completely flat. You do that by thinning out the screed with a little bit of water around the edges.

It's really not that difficult, and you'll kick yourself for paying someone to do it when it's so easy.

Or like me, you'll kick yourself for paying someone to do attempt 1, forcing you to try twice to fix the stuff up of attempt 1.

BTW, I know almost nothing about building... I just spent time watching youtube vids to get an idea of what people were doing.
