Hi, we had a technician fix our line about a month ago but the noise margin is fluctuating pretty much all the time. It doesn't change much, normally between 21dB and 22dB but everytime it changes latency increases so it makes gaming impossible. There is no voltage changes and no noise on the phone either so what could be the problem? Thanks.

Having the same issue at our offices. This morning wasn't fun - electrician came to finish putting in all the electrical outlets and after that our ADSL became basically unusable. He must have turned on a circuit somewhere that is interfering with the telephone lines.

The lines were barely working to begin with (had 12 - 13 snr) now our snr is sitting at 9 and lines are too unstable to use.

Check for any sources of interference that may be close to the wiring (you might have electrical wiring running next to the cable or it passes nearby a microwave, etc).

We are now waiting for a techie to come and sort this out, they should have made sure they did their job properly before installing it the bastards.

if you have one of those telkom modems, the phone line goes into the plug and from the plug to your modem. go straight from phoneline to your modem and you'll be fine. I had the same issue and decided if the lightning was going to take out the modem it would, regardless of if the phone line is plugged in straight or go through the plug.
